What Is the AGT 2026 Golden Buzzer
The AGT 2026 golden buzzer is a special award on America's Got Talent that instantly sends one performer to the live shows. Judges press the buzzer once per audition to bypass regular cuts and advance a standout act directly to the next stage.
How the Golden Buzzer Works in 2026
During open auditions, each judge receives one golden buzzer to use at their discretion. When pressed, the buzzer triggers lights and a fanfare, stopping the performance and advancing the contestant. The act then moves to the live rounds without competing in additional preliminary rounds.
Tips to Increase Your Chances
Performers can improve their odds by preparing a concise, high-impact routine that showcases a clear skill or story within the first 30 seconds. Judges often use the buzzer for originality, emotional connection, or technical precision. For official rules and deadlines, visit NBC Official AGT Page.
