What Was California Screamin
California Screamin was a steel launched roller coaster at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, California. It opened in 2001 and was known for its high-speed launch and views of the Pacific Ocean.
When and Why It Closed
The ride closed permanently on January 8, 2018. Disney announced the closure as part of a broader overhaul of Pixar Pier, which replaced the former Paradise Pier area. The goal was to refresh the land with a more cohesive Pixar theme.
What Replaced California Screamin
California Screamin was rethemed as the Incredicoaster, which reopened on June 23, 2018. The new ride keeps the same track layout and launch system but features Incredibles theming, new trains, and updated queue and station areas.
