Greg Lake was an English singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist. He is best known as a founding member of the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Early Career and King Crimson

Lake began his career in the late 1960s and joined King Crimson in 1969. He played bass and sang on the band’s debut album, In the Court of the Crimson King, which became a landmark in progressive rock.
