Robin's Parents in DC Comics
In the original DC Comics continuity, Robin's parents are John and Mary Grayson. They are circus acrobats who are murdered by a gangster named Tony Zucco. Zucco sabotages their trapeze rig during a performance, causing them to fall to their deaths. This traumatic event motivates Dick Grayson to become Robin and fight crime.
How Did Robin's Parents Die
The official cause of death is a fall from a high wire after deliberate sabotage. Tony Zucco extorts protection money from the circus, and when the owners refuse, he destroys the rigging. The Graysons die on impact in front of young Dick Grayson, leaving him orphaned and later adopted by Bruce Wayne.
