Ashton Kutcher's Age in That 70s Show
Ashton Kutcher was born on February 7, 1978. He was 20 years old when That 70s Show premiered in 1998 and played 17-year-old Michael Kelso. He remained in this role through most of the series, aging in real time alongside the fictional characters.
How Old Was He in Each Season
During season 1, Kutcher was 20 to 21. By the final season, he was 24 to 25. The show ran from 1998 to 2006, so viewers watched him transition from a college-age teenager to a young adult while still portraying a high school character.
Why Age Mattered for the Role
Casting directors needed an actor who could believably play a teenager while handling the show's comedic and dramatic tone. Kutcher's real age helped ground the story in a relatable way. For more details, see the That 70s Show overview.
