Jungkook's Military Enlistment
Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, enlisted in the South Korean military on December 14, 2023. He completed basic training at the Korea Army Training Center in Nonsan before being assigned to active duty. His enlistment followed the mandatory military service required for all able-bodied South Korean men.
Role and Service Timeline
Jungkook serves as an active-duty soldier in the Republic of Korea Army. He is expected to complete approximately 18 months of service, which includes combat training, unit assignments, and routine military duties. His discharge is currently projected for mid-2025, subject to official announcements.
Impact on BTS and Career
Jungkook's military service temporarily pauses his group activities with BTS. The other members have also completed or are completing their own service obligations. After discharge, he is expected to resume music and promotional activities. For more details on BTS service timelines, see the official HYBE statement.
