Are There NFL Games on Christmas Eve?
The NFL typically schedules games on Christmas Day, December 25, but Christmas Eve, December 24, usually has no regular-season games. In rare cases, the league may schedule a Christmas Eve matchup to accommodate holiday travel or broadcast logistics. Fans should check the official NFL schedule each season for exact dates and times.
How to Watch NFL Christmas Games
When the NFL does feature a Christmas Day game, it is often broadcast on national television networks such as NFL TV schedule and streamed on NFL+ or major platforms. Christmas Eve games, if scheduled, follow the same broadcast and streaming options. Viewers should confirm their local listings and streaming services before kickoff.
Why Christmas Eve NFL Games Are Rare
NFL Christmas Eve games are uncommon because the league prioritizes Christmas Day tripleheaders and avoids conflicts with other holiday events. The regular season usually ends before Christmas, leaving limited flexibility for extra games. When Christmas Eve games occur, they are treated as special scheduling exceptions rather than a regular tradition.
