Who Is Ronnie Turcotte

Ronnie Turcotte is a retired Thoroughbred jockey best known for winning the 1973 Triple Crown aboard Secretariat. He was a leading rider during the early 1970s and a prominent figure in North American horse racing.

The Accident

On July 13, 1978, Turcotte suffered a catastrophic fall at Belmont Park during the Secretariat Stakes. The incident left him paralyzed from the waist down and effectively ended his riding career.

After the Accident
