How the Hunger Games End in the Final Book

In Suzanne Collins' novel "Mockingjay," the rebellion against the Capitol succeeds. Katniss Everdeen becomes the symbolic Mockingjay leader. President Coin plans a final Hunger Games using Capitol children, but Katniss kills Coin instead of Snow. Snow is later found dead, officially by his own guards, ending the regime's rule.

What Happens to the Main Characters

Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch survive. Katniss and Peeta marry and have two children. Peeta recovers from Capitol-induced brainwashing. Gale leaves District 12 after his role in the bombing of Capitol children is revealed. President Snow is imprisoned, and the Capitol is restructured under a new government.

The Aftermath and New Order

The victors abolish the Hunger Games and establish a constitutional republic. District 12 is rebuilt, and surviving districts gain more autonomy. Katniss focuses on her family and documenting the rebellion's history. The final chapter shows her daughter asking about the old games, confirming a lasting peace.
