History and Origin

The rough Cullinan diamond was found in South Africa in 1905. It was cut into several stones, with Cullinan I and Cullinan II set in the British Crown Jewels.

Where It Is Displayed

Cullinan I is mounted in the Sovereign's Sceptre with Cross, part of the Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom. It can be viewed at the Tower of London.
