Where Is the Titanic Ship Today

The wreck of the RMS Titanic lies on the floor of the North Atlantic Ocean, roughly 370 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada. The ship sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 after striking an iceberg.

The wreck rests at a depth of about 12,500 feet (3,800 meters). The debris field spans roughly a third of a square mile, with the bow section located at approximately 41 degrees 43 minutes N latitude and 49 degrees 56 minutes W longitude.

Exploration and Current Condition

Since its discovery in 1985, the Titanic has been surveyed by manned submersibles, remotely operated vehicles, and camera systems.
