Who Was the Toy Box Killer

The Toy Box killer is the nickname for Kenneth Bianchi, an American serial killer who murdered multiple women in the late 1970s. He earned the name because he stored some victims in a large toy chest at his home.

Bianchi committed the murders with his cousin Angelo Buono Jr. in Los Angeles, California. The victims were young women whom the pair lured, abducted, and killed between 1977 and 1978. Their crimes created widespread fear across the region.

Crimes and Capture

The pair was linked to several disappearances and homicides after investigators found physical evidence connecting them to the victims. Bianchi was arrested in 1979 after fleeing to Bellingham, Washington, where he killed two more women.

Bianchi pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty and was sentenced to life in prison. He later claimed he was faking mental illness during parts of his trial, a claim disputed by prosecutors and court experts.
